"Additional Information" Question

So, for those who have filled out applications before or just have any insight, what information is prudent to put in the additional information sections? In my eyes, it could be something random about myself that I feel I may want to include, but has anyone ever used this section to mention something about test scores (why they weren't so great or why you did really well, for instance) or about class rank/GPA? In other words, is it wise to try and justify yourself just to let it all out there?

Um…anyone?

I would use it for positive things. Travel…or anything that you have done that might be different. Was there anything that you thought the application didn’t cover? Is there an EC that you particularly love? Volunteer work? Whatever you do not think was adequately covered elsewhere.

A senior this year at my school put in this section that he only took his SAT once and that he didn’t receive prep or tutoring for it. He also mentioned his IQ. I don’t know if those were great ideas though.

I think that putting an IQ would be a tad precocious. I think I understand what I need to do now, though, so thanks guys for your advice!!
