"Additional Information" Question

Hello,

I'm just finishing up my "Candidate Personal Data" on the Candidate Information System. On the Additional Information section, there are two questions that are troubling me. First, "Have you ever experienced any exceptional adversity that we should know about?" and second "Have you had a unique life experience of which we should be aware?".

For civilian colleges, I would obviously answer these questions with a long and far-fetched story that reveals character, integrity etc. But the questions that surround it (Family Income, First Generation American) as well as the YES/NO option lead me to believe that I should leave this blank if, in reality, I haven't faced any true hardships or had any life altering experiences.

I have asked my BGO the same question, and he wasn't sure, so I was wondering if anybody here could shed some light on the issue. Is it acceptance to simply select "NO" and leave the field blank?

Thanks,
MPP

Also, on an unrelated note, I scored pretty well on my SAT IIs and APs this year.

Math II: 740, U.S. History: 700, Chemistry: 700
AP U.S. History 4, Chemistry 5, English Language 5

I had all these scores sent to the Academy in addition to my ACTs (35 Verbal, 31 Math).

Will the SAT IIs and APs even be added to my Candidate file? Will they be given any consideration in the application process? Either way, they have not been added to my “Official Test Scores” section on the CIS? I know that they are not required, but will they even be looked at?

I suspect they’ll be added to your file and will be given no consideration until an appointment is accepted. Short answer, no. But in any case, good work! ;)
