Though I hate threads like this, asking "OMG am I accepted?!" I do have one question for the CC community:

Is it normal for Harvard to contact an applicant for more information about his or her science research? I just received an email asking for more information (I did not supply a supplement). The email mentioned that my application has been reviewed, so I assume I made the first cut at least.

It could go either way, but from my experience I’d say it’s a good thing. If I had to make a guess, they thought your research was really good but wanted to confirm it was yours, or just truly wanted to know more about it.

(In my case, my GC was called/emailed for my 1st quarter grades about a week prior to decisions.)

Good luck; hopefully this will turn out to be a good thing.

Over the years, I have known Admissions to email students asking for more information about their research project, science project, math project etc. A few of those students have been accepted to Harvard, others have not. So, while you may have made the “first cut,” it’s making the “final cut” that matters. Best of luck to you!
