In the Princeton-specific supplement to the Common Application (not the general common app) , there is a section labeled “Additional Information” which says “Please attach a document if you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application.” This is very similar to what the additional information section of the common application says.
Should I attach my resume in the Princeton Additional Information section or is it for the same purpose as the common application section? Is my understanding that the additional information section for the common application is for explanations of sudden drops in grades or very significant accomplishments correct? Thanks!
I think your understanding is slightly incorrect. Rather than being limited to an explanation for a drop in grades or significant accomplishments, I think they’re providing an opportunity to address ANY circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application. If any such issues are already covered in your Commn Application, feel free to disregard.
Don’t add a resume if it just repeats information in your application. Only give them information they don’t already have elsewhere in the application. For example my D attached additional information regarding her research at a local university because the CA didn’t have a good place to put/expand on that topic.
Son used the space to put a URL to his main EC website. Glad he did, after I pulled the site logs, I saw a Princeton IP address visit his site for 20 min and several pages!
@Dolemite Did your D submit an abstract, the entire paper, or a letter of rec from the mentor? I am considering to do something similar, but I don’t know if I should submit the whole 12 page paper (they probably wouldn’t want to read all that).
Basically the abstract and information on the International Conference where she presented it. She didn’t get a letter of recommendation from the mentor though she considered it. I don’t think that would be bad if it shows something different.
