<p>Is it proper to write about how I slacked in Freshman year? It was because I did not realize the pivotal effects Fresh. Year had on my gpa. Should I include this in my Additional Information Section?</p>
<p>Usually colleges don’t really focus much on your freshman grades since its a transitional year, I don’t think you should stress too much about it. How are your grades the following years?</p>
<p>I went up 10 points overall GPA Percentage by the time I finished Junior Year.</p>

<p>I have done a lot of research on this and basically what everyone on here says is to have your guidance counselor cover it. I can’t find it right now, but somewhere on the MIT website they have a page explaining that they want your guidance counselor to say things like that. Other CCers have said they agree with this as it is more likely a legitimate excuse coming from your guidance counselor, rather than yourself.</p>
