I keep having a thought regarding the additional information section: What if I treat it almost like a Facebook profile page? List my favorites book/shows/movies/quotes. Adds another dimension to the application I guess.

Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts?

This additional information section is driving me crazy. I don't think there's enough extra stuff to warrant a resume for me, and I definitely don't plan on putting in an extra essay. But it seems so -ugh- to just leave it blank...

Bad idea. Your application isn't Facebook. It's a formal document and should be treated formally and professionally. It is perfectly acceptable to leave the Additional Info section blank. Filling it in just to fill it in can easily annoy someone who has to review 1500 applications.

Agree with Chedva. If you're scratching your head for something to put in the Additional Information field, then you /should/ leave it blank. It's there just in case you have other vital information or things you need to explain (e.g., extended illness, family issues, reason for changing high schools, ECs that wouldn't fit on the activities page or wouldn't make sense without further explanation), for which there was no field in the rest of the Common App forms. Don't stick random stuff in there just for the sake of filling a field. That would create extra work for the admissions committee and make you look unfocused.

I wouldn't recommend doing that because it looks unprofessional. I would just leave it blank if you cannot think of anything else to put for it.
