What is Cornell's policy on sending additional information to supplement the application? I have a few photos, newspaper articles and research abstracts that I think would help give a much more accurate picture of who I am and what I do.

hmmm...unless its somethin ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL, don't send.

A research paper on Big-Bang Theory that won applauds by Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawkings- YES!!!
A paper u did to please ur high school teacher - NO!

as for newspaper articles, just mention it in ur ec's...

Photos - Cornell won't take u even if ur The most handsome guy aslong as u have a good app

Most would agree it's pretty phenomenal: a homemade nuclear fusion reactor. The pictures and abstract are required to fully desribe what I did, and I also referred the reader to my website (www.brian-mcdermott.com) for more information. My work is also going to be featured in a documentary movie about alternative enegy sometime in the spring. I sent a few pictures of the apparatus and a short description of what it does and how my work was verified.. The rest was covered in the regular application.

I saw you in the Harvard forum I think. Yeah I think this is fair game for a supplement. I submitted one supplementary recommendation from a teacher involved in my extracurricular. With that I attached a newspaper article mentioning me and quoting me with a photo of me because the article described my statements at a conference that my committee attended. My point is, give your supplements cohesion and purpose. But yeah, definitely mention this but don't expect it to get you in.

Thanks, I think I'm all set now.

an article from the school website that listed my daughter on the winning team of the Dell Technology Challenge. She helped win her school a 12 laptop mobile wireless computer lab valued at $40,000. Not too bad for a "dumb jock". She was admitted ED.

Brian, you have an amazing hook to any HYPSM.

yea tough luck at mit... :(

Yeah, but if you've seen my stats on the Harvard, Caltech or MIT boards, you'd see where my shortcomings are. My numbers aren't particularly up to snuff with the rest of the applicants I have to compete with.
