My daughter's application is complete, but she was thinking of sending in an additional "activity bio." It just lists the activities in more detail since some of them are a little obscure. Is this a good idea, or just more fluff to take away from the real thing? Also, on the same note, what about sending in a performance DVD or tape? She is thinking of double majoring in music and has one to send, but again, we are just not sure. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I don't know that I would do the activity bio, though I also don't think it could hurt. However, I certainly think the music tape would be good to send both to admissions and to the music department. I believe they say as much, but you may want to ask admissions for sure as I have no musical talent :)

I would say definitely send in the acitvities sheet. Don't make it too long, but just provide a brief summary of each activity and any officer positions/awards/competitions/etc. I sent one in to all the colleges I applied to. Most of the people on this site reccomend it and my high school told all of us to complete one as well, so I think it is a good idea. Also, I think any tapes that get sent in are forwarded to the music department. The musci department will then tell admissions if they are interested in the candidate. From what Ive heard, it cant hurt to send in a tape, so you might as well.
