I am filling out my common application and I have come to the section for additional information. At first, I thought that this section was only to explain extenuating circumstances (for example, a kid has surgery junior year and his grades fall). I don't have any of these circumstances, and my counselor attaches a sort of resume with my transcript (the other use I have seen for this section). Would it be beneficial for me to explain another activity in depth through another essay? I was thinking of describing a recent assembly that I organized at my school. Thank you for the responses!

The extracurricular section on the common app says if you need to explain an activity in slightly more detail to use the additional info

If I am not going to add anything spectacular to my application, would it be best to leave the section blank? Or should I find the best way to fill it? Is there anyone who has left this section blank that would like to reply?

You should leave it blank if you have nothing to add but fluff
