What should the photo look like? Is it ok if mine's a headshot before a dance in my room or should it be more formal like a passport id? Should we be dressed up?

I am not too familliar with this, but you never can go wrong with formal (except for maybe in an interview where you make the interviewer feel uncomfortable). My word is far from law though, so I hope you do not blindly follow what I say.

Passport photos look like mugshots. I'd go with the headshot/glamorshot.

^lol, i sent in a picture of me sticking my tongue out, about to lick a scoop of ice cream placed in coconut (some dessert at a vietnamese restaurant), and they still took me :p, i don't recommend something that crazy unless you think it'll be well taken.

Graduation photos will work.

Lmao, well I guess that's one way to stand out from the crowd :p

This photo is the one that will be used for the freshman facebook, just FYI. No need to try and go crazy, they'll filter those out for the facebook if you're not careful.

That's incorrect. This photo is just for the admissions officers eyes only. Once you get in you'll have to send in another photo for the facebook.

I was posing in a Columbia Sweatshirt. That probably helped.
