Additional Study Required?

Hello!

So I was planning on taking Bio M and Us History on the seventh (June). I had AP courses in both of these. I had always heard that subject tests were easier so I figured I wouldn't need additional study time. However, I saw a couple people at my school with prep books specific to SAT II's that were also in these courses. So now I'm wondering if additional study is required to get a good score? (700 or above as far as I have gathered, though I'm not really sure on that). The only previous posts on this topic I found were for people who wanted perfect scores, which I don't really care about to be honest.

I can see maybe for Bio because the AP curriculum took out plants, but for history is the material that different? To give some context, I only took one past APUSH MC exam prior to studying for the AP exam and missed 18 (it was the 2012 exam I think). Afterwards I read REAs crash course to study and took the exam today. I'm confident I missed less than ten multiple choice. Is that enough for SAT II?

Basically, for both of these, are the differences minute enough that I could take the hit on the questions I don't know and still get a good score?

Thanks!

For Bio, what you will need to know for the subject test is still overall much less and in less depth than the AP. I took bio M as a freshman without any AP course and got a 790- I used the barrons book just to refresh the information but it is still intuitive enough that besides plants, you don’t have much to worry about.

For US history, I do think it is worth taking one past administered subject test just for more practice and all, but you should be fine, yet there certainly will be much more detail than the crash course so you might want to just review lightly from your textbook. If you can get less than 10 wrong, that it certainly 770 or above, so you should be fine.

Thank you very much! Really relieved I won’t have to do much more studying this month.

I would just memorize some of the plant/fungi (I think they’re on there)/bacteria stuff. I took AP bio last year with the updated curriculum and ended up with a 750+ on the SAT2.
