Adhd And Grad School Admissions

Hi, this is my first post here. I haven't had a lot of time today to browse the threads, so if this is a repeat, I apologize. I was just wondering if anyone out there has ADD/ADHD and if so, how did you go about applying to Grad Schools? I have two Bachelor's Degrees. The first one is in French and the GPA is really bad (this is before getting help and being on meds). The second degree is in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business and my GPA is 3.706. Most Graduate Schools require some sort of written essay telling them about yourself, your academic history and why you want to attend their school. Do I tell them about my ADHD in order to explain the difference in the two GPAs? I really don't want to jeopardize my chances of being accepted to any school.

Get a note from doctors and get a note from school administrators. Additionally, have teachers include the ADHD in your letters of recommendations. Write a separate note to your college about your ADHD, and indicate the proof you have of this illness (list the doctor notes, the teacher recs, etc.)

I realize that I'm going to have to tell them b/c of the GPA difference between my two BAs. I wonder if they'll average the GPAs or if they will take the higher GPA? I've been out of school for quite some time now and I can think of only one Professor who will remember me for a letter of reccomendation. I'm going to have to use my employer for another letter. The application/admission process isn't going to be fun. I haven't taken the GRE yet, I guess I should worry about that first.

yeah, i would say worry about the GRE first because if you do fantastic on that, that could lead them to place much LESS emphasis on your poor grades. i don't think grad schools really use a clear cut-off, and since your case is an exception, they will consider both GPA's, but they will understand the situation in which one was obtained.
