ADHD Scholarships

Alright here is the situation. A friend of mine has ADHD ad has a 72 GPA, roughly 1.7 I believe. I doubt he has great reccs, even i the case he has them. I Dont think he even has essays dome. His SAT is 1300 (3 sections combined). He is would be an international student. Are there any hopes ?

He is asking whether he will get a scholarship, as an international, with those stats????????????

Well I went to his house the other day. His father asked me to find scholarships for ADHD students, after he saw some movie where a guy with ADHD and low SAT receives a scholarships. I accepted to search for options, but I know it will be extremely difficult. Honestly he is a bad student. I think his best option would be to go to a community college and then transfer to a university. Somehow his father told me he could get in state tuition at Arizona, so he could go to a community college there and then transfer to ASU.

California's community colleges are very inexpensive, even for out of staters. The kid could come to California and go to community college for two years (or more, if he needed some remedial work, which he probably would) and then transfer to a four year school. If he did well in community college, he'd be able to transfer to a well-regarded school.

But that brings me to the second question: If the kid has a 1.7 gpa in high school, what is going to change in college? (Though I would call a 72 a C average, so a 2.0 or so. But still. Students with a gpa that low in high school usually struggle in college.)

even if you were an OOS student who could afford CA community college- you may not be able to afford a 4 year school.
Moving to a state to attend college, does not constitute residency.

You're quite right, emeraldkity4. But maybe the student might be able to put together a good record in the two years of community college and get merit aid somewhere.
