Hi
i just took SAT II chinese with listening
i think i missed about 5~8
horrible i know
but here are my reasons (or excuses)
1. im korean.
2. i lived in taiwan for a year like 3 years ago and haven been speaking chinese ever since.

so my question is
let's say if i miss 8
do you think colleges will be impressed or not impressed?
i mean i only have 1 year of experience and didn even speak that language for 3 years
im applying for harvard and stanford and top schools by the way
HELP!!!!!!!

depends on the score.
anything above 700, i’d say impressed.

but hey, i’m korean myself too and if i were you
i would take other exams and send the best 2 or 3

As long as you get a high 700 I don’t think it’ll matter very much.
If you miss 8 you probably have a chance of getting a pretty good score.
Do you have good SAT/other SAT II scores?

I’d say even if you get 800 Chinese it’s not THAT impressive. But getting a good score will show them you have pretty good experience in that language. Getting below 700 could hurt you though.

An average Chinese SAT II won’t hold you back from those colleges. If you get rejected it won’t be because of your not-so-amazing SAT Chinese score.

i was gonna take math II, physics, and chinese but
i guess if i get 700 or below, i’d have to take some other stuff…

As long as you get good math II and physics scores i think you’ll be fine!

Unless you get a really bad Chinese score and you’re applying to some college like Harvard that requires 3 subject tests.
If so, i’d take something else so you have 3 good scores.
