I’m from Michigan and I plan on transferring there. I have a 3.71 GPA and will have 75 transferable credits by the end of this semester. The only downfall to my application is that I haven’t completed three classes that go towards my major preparation. Anybody think I’ll get in?

Congratulations to all who were accepted!!!

You all applied for fall 2010 but you were notified earlier because of your outstanding stats, correct? Wow! Way to go! (I applied as soon as it was possible but I guess my stats weren’t as impressive - sigh…)

dont worry petiza im sure ull be getting that email or letter pretty soon

I appreciate your words of encouragement, omar10!

Has anyone else heard from SDSU?

nope. still waiting… its been a while already.
oh and i have a question.
is that true that if you’re not a “party person” at all, you’ll be like a loner or something?
one of my friend went to SDSU and then transfered to UCSB because she wasn’t partying that much… sigh.

UCSB is supposed to be a huge party school too…I think there are probably party-kids and non-party-kids at every University. You’ll find a place to fit in somewhere. :)

No, you’ll be fine.

Like in life, if you stay back, don’t talk, and don’t want to be noticed, you probably won’t be noticed. It’s up to you, but there are all sorts of people at SDSU. Yes, there tends to be an emphasis on the “party people”, and you can spot them all over, but you should be alright. Just let things flow.

Best thing to do would be to join at least 1 club, either academic or social. Doesn’t have to be the whole cliche Greek thing.

Wow, it looks like SDSU is accepting more out of stater people this year. That is a first, they need the money because out of state tuition on ALOT of $$ and most of it is gravy!
Congrats to you all! This is tough on the in-state applicants who cannot get in and should:(

So when do we find out??

anyone else hear back yet?

Accepted in-state.

GPA: 3.98 unweighted
ACT: 31

how quince? email or on the portal?

I received both an email and an acceptance letter on January 12th.

My daughter is waiting…ACT25 5 AP classes all A’s except AP Calculus C
SAT 1720/2400 Over 300 hr EC - chances? Since she was rejected calpoly she hopes for SDSU if not then either USD of Denver Univ - any comments? Also acceted SF State and SJose State…which I assume are easier to get into then SDSU?? We live in LA - thinking the state schools are so difficult and will take 5+ yrs to graduate so she applied out of state as well…

your d has a shot. i’ll say in but we never know. what’s her gpa? and what’s her intended major?

Her gpa 9-11 weighted 4.1 - but Cal gpa 10-11 w/cap on AP/Honors I think is 3.8

Admissions confirmed they only look at grades 10-11 (which I knew) and cap the # of Honors/AP they give credit for at 10 semesters (I thought only 8) - so that is good. However, they do not take into account how difficult the courses are - and only look at
gpa and test scores - That is the bad thing about Cal State system.

Therefore, my daughter (if 10 AP/Honors 10-11) has gpa of 3.95 but not the best test scores ACT 25 and SAT 1720. It will be interesting as SDSU used to be very easy to get into - They will start releasing notifications from today thru rest of month
For future students who want SDSU - unless things chance - don’t take too many AP/Honors (5 max) unless you get As -

DOes anyone know about Cal Poly do they also disregard how hard your classes are.

Just decided to check webportal for admission status today to SDSU and got in. ACT/30 GPA 3.7 unweighted. Avg. ACT for 2009 was 26, GPA was 3.81 (avg. eligibility index was 1024), so if you do the math and your higher than 1024, good chances you’ll get in.

Accepted 3/1/10
California Resident

GPA 3.73 uw / 4.04 w
SAT 1850

Varsity basketball and many EC activities

Very excited!!! Good luck to everyone waiting

accepted into nutrition science
