My daughter was admitted today for Fall 2019. She will be working to get her ACT score up from 26 to be eligible for the automatic OOS scholarships. My question is whether paying the freshman enrollment deposit would decrease the chances of getting any other scholarship offers. Assuming that Alabama offers other scholarships opportunities than what is listed for OOS on their site? Thanks in advance for your advice.
I don’t think it would impact her chances at all. I believe they will accept updated scores until just before the scholarship deadlines.
I know they list some other scholarships besides the guaranteed ones. I think they are mostly from the alumni associations? My impression is that they are pretty hard to get, and that really the automatic ones are the ones to be shooting for. At any rate, no, I don’t think it would hurt to pay the deposit.
