What does an "approved" admission appeal usually signify?

Sounds to me like your appeal was granted.

did you successfully appeal a decision?

@estara89: I’m not sure. I appealed my decision to the university of Texas at Austin. My appeal was “approved” after being in review for 2-3weeks and now I have a request for my spring grades but my admission decision still says the same thing?

You’re in just send in your spring grade … btw what did you say ?

@Transfer2013: I hope your’e right. Well I have a strong feeling that they mistakenly looked over some of the aspects of my application. On the resume part of the application I listed that I worked on a Thirty Seconds To Mars Music Video as an Assistant Video Editor Intern. I’m sure they had no idea that this was a world famous band and that the music video was a high production one. At the time of the application the Music Video hadn’t premiered yet. So in the letter I included why I wanted to go to UT Austin then I discussed this work experience in a better light talking about how my GPA may not be up to par with other applicants for my major (film major) but how it was evident through the pursuance of such work experiences that I really work hard towards achieving my own goals that are related to filmmaking. I sent them a link to the music video and told them it premiered in NY Times Square with my name in the credits along side many industry professionals and mentioned how I was proud of this achievement. Along with including how my GPA has risen significantly this semester. I also included some of my own philosophical beliefs about why I chose to write the letter (If you want something bad enough you can’t give up on it even through the toughest adversity).

Of course I said this all in a more sophisticated, coming from the heart type of way.
Basically that’s all I did. I said the truth. I spoke from the heart. I tried to give them a better feel of who I am as not only a student but as a human being.

Gj man I’m happy for you ! You deserved 30 seconds to mars is awesome !

@Transfer2013: im not sure if i’m in yet. Someone else’s appeal was approved as well (because they initially calculated his unit count wrong) and now his status went from “not admitted” to “Complete/On Time” which is the standard status for reviewing applications?

how’d he know they calculated it wrong?
