Admission at UT Austin

I am an american citizen that have lived all my lifed in Mexico, this year, Im studying my senior High School year in Maine and plan to go to college in the US, UT Austin.
I have always been in the top 10% of my classes and I could say top 5%, being the best or the second out of 50.
I guess the fact of living in Mexico my whole life makes me different from any other regular student because ive had the vision or lived in different cultures, besides I want on an exchange program to Budapest, Hungary and lived there by my own, experiencing their culture, language etc.
I speak 4 languages; Spanish, English, Hungarian amd Portuguese.
What I want to say with all this is that Im not a regular student, who by the age of 18 just attended school and got good grades. I have lived in 4 different countries, 3 of them by my own or host families, Ive made relationships with people from all over the world. I wonder if anyone has an idea of what UT Austin would think about me.
I guess my class rank is pretty good, ,my essay could be good, I dont know how important is this to them, because my SAT scores are low, approximately 1300-1400.
Could my rank and essay make what my SAT scores are not doing?
THANK YOU, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

By 1300-1400 are you referring to a 2400 scale? If so, then you have a huge hill to climb. If you mean on a 1600 scale, then you are in better shape. See page 31-35 for the UT process. If you mean on a 2400 scale, your AI will be low and your PAI will probably be high.

I mean on a scale of 2400, that was my score the first time, I just re-took it yesterday and Im sure it will be better, but the main point here is, do you think if my essay and rank are great, can that cover the bad part (my SAT scores) ? Thanks for replying ! @gettingschooled

Read the link provided in post #1 and do the calculations. You aren’t going to get more insight than that.

No, I don’t think so. Because OOS spots are very limited, they are very competitive. I hope yesterday went better.

Even if you were in-state, I believe you need a minimum of 1500 out of 2400 to be automatically admitted under the top 10% rule
