<p>For example, if I pick an engineering major, and have a l&s major as an alternative choice. Can I get rejected from engineering but still admitted into the school?</p>
<p>Correct. Your major doesn’t depend on whether you get into the university or not. They first admit you and then check to see if you get into your impacted major.</p>
<p>^And that only applies for impacted majors. So if you choose a non-impacted major, then you get into your major automatically. If you choose an impacted major, then you get your second choice or undeclared if you don’t get into your impacted major.</p>
