I'm from out of state, and my school only requires 1 semester of a fine art. That being said, I don't qualify for UC schools when it comes to meeting the A-G requirements. I am going to apply by admission by examination alone.

I calculated what my UC score is, and it's somewhere around a 1470 i think. They say the minimum for out of state is around a 1420 or something. So does that mean I if someone with a score above this is admitted? Or is that just a prereq?

If it helps, these are my stats:
29 ACT
3.64 UW GPA
4.25 W GPA
(they're subpar, I know)

I agree with ucbalumnus that you are eligible, but that doesn’t mean much. My son’s score was well over the eligibility score (when he was 12 yrs old: 31 ACT, 2200 SAT, 800 Physics, 800 Math, 790 US history), but an admission officer at UCB told us not to bother with admission by examination alone because “it is very rare.” He ended up getting in UCB through “normal” admission.

yeah that’s pretty exceptional. though it seems he was home-schooled, which might mean he was more easily able to develop at a pace that was right for him. still, probably 99.95+% in terms of intelligence.

Thanks for your nice comments, folks. Yes, that’s true: he was homeschooled and was actually a NMF. His IQ? I don’t really know because I don’t believe in the test and thus has never had him tested.
