What the heck? I just received a mail from the admission's office saying my admission is cancelled because my transcript was not received. But i know for sure my school mailed them. When I called them on July 16 because my checklist wasn't checked off they rudely i mean rudely told me to wait because they are busy. So I waited and now they're telling me my admission is cancelled??? So I called them and the office hours is only Monday - Friday until 4pm. So i have to wait 3 more days to find out what's going on.

I'm freaked out!~ It's not even my fault. What the heck are they doing to me?

I guess wait 3 more days and then call. In the meantime you could contact your school to resend your transcripts. I have faith that UCSD wants us to succeed. They'll probably understand. I hope...

the same thing just happened to me!!! i am so mad. i called my school to make sure they were sent which they were and now they are telling me to go somewhere else? are u a winter admit by any chance??

Or maybe it's because you both have two Ss in your names...

This wouldn't be the first case of systematic (hah!) oppression (haha!) of people whose names have two Ss. I feel sorry for your loss (hahaha!).

I wouldn't worry. Your school will verify for you that they sent your transcripts, and then they will just have to re-submit them most likely. I doubt they can rescind you for someone else's mistake. Maybe have a cocktail and watch a movie, or look for some Canadian football on the TV. (get used to watchin football on tv since UCSD doesn't have a team) ;)

Definitely get in touch with your high school ASAP to find out if they mailed your transcript. Call college admissions, explain your situation (how you called about the issue earlier, what your high school's situation was, etc), ask what steps you should follow with next. Check your legal name at both schools to make sure theres no mix up there. Check if UCSD will allow your grades faxed by the school, and if not, have the school resend a transcript, as well as get two sealed transcripts for yourself (one to send on your own, one to hold on to incase theres even more trouble), just to be doubly sure.

I highly doubt they will not offer you admission at all now. Its more likely a 'temporary' cancellation until you follow through.

Until then, relax, most likely all blame right now is on people other than yourself. Do what Voiceofreason recommended in the meantime. =P

sorry to hear about that, if it were me i would be freakin paranoid and freaked out like crazy. anyway call your high school and UCSD...they should at least notify you before cancelling your admission. the worst case scenario, you have to write a letter to sd explaining the situation and ur high school will resend the transcript. don't worry

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone by joking. Seriously.

(hahahaha!)

FYI for those of you who are dense: the "hahas" follow my words containing two Ss. They have absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand. I hope you guys can successfully resolve this issu - ahem, matter.

I just received the same message – I’ve emailed UCSD admissions and my high school counselor (since nobody can be contacted on Saturday – why the hell did they send this message right before the effin’ weekend?).

Does anybody know if this will affect dorm room, uh, “status”? By that, I mean, would I get kicked out onto the waiting list?

I'd definitely speak with your college counselor at your HS. They will work to get this all sorted out & be your ally in getting your status straightened out. I wouldn't stress about this (easier said than done); I'm sure it's just a miscommunication & will be resolved 1st thing Monday between your HS college counselor & UCSD's office.

I sure hope my high school is open now though – summer school ended last week, so I don’t know if any of the counselors or registrar people are still working.

Most schools may have SOME folks on vacation when summer school ends & before the school year begins, but there should be SOME staff on hand to help out--the registrar, the college counselor, your grade-level counselor, etc. The HS will know that this affects you & THE HS (its rep, etc is at stake, since they want their grads to be placed at appropriate schools & matriculate & graduate from such schools).
In the meantime, you should fax UCSD your final report card, showing your senior grades & a note telling them that you and your HS will be contacting them 1st thing Monday morning, with contact info (cell phone, etc.)
