Admission Chance for an out of state student?

So I really liked New College of Florida and I think it would be a good fit for me, but i'm from Indiana, so I'm not sure if that will affect me or not. Does New College prefer applicants from Florida? Or are they open to everyone?

Also, how does the no grades thing work for things like med schools?

New College embraces applicants from everywhere, as most colleges do. Definitely apply if you think it would be a good fit for you. My d just graduated and had close friends from Michigan and DC, among other states.

New College has excellent record of students going on to grad school in a variety of fields.

“Does the absence of grades impede entry to graduate school or your ability to get a job? Not at all! Narrative evaluations actually allow faculty to write strong, detailed recommendation letters for graduate school applications, scholarships and employment. About 80 percent of New College alumni go on to graduate school within six years of graduating. For the 2010 graduating class, 86 percent of graduates who applied to a Ph.D. program were accepted, and 100 percent who applied to law school got in! It’s no wonder that The Wall Street Journal ranked New College the nation’s no. 2 public feeder school for elite law, medical and business schools.”

good luck!

My S applied out of state last year and was accepted and offered a good scholarship. Sadly, he was offered a full scholarship at another university, so he didn’t accept.

congrats on the full scholarship where your s will be attending
