Admission Chances Based on Credentials

Hey everyone, I just applied to transfer to the University of Virginia (UVA). I’m really nervous as I wait to hear back in 2 months and it would really help if someone could tell me if they think I’ll get in or not based on these credentials:
I currently attend James Madison University (JMU) as an economics and political science double major

4.0 GPA, Student Government Class Treasurer & Senator, Community Activities Board Treasurer, participation in the JMU cross country club and society of physics students.
I’m part of the honors program.
I was chosen by politics professor to present my local activism work to reduce food waste at the university at the school’s annual general education conference.

SAT score of 1920

In high school I had a 4.4 weighted GPA, participation in many clubs, I lacked leadership positions. Overall I was a great candidate, but I didn’t get into UVA.

Do you think that my first semester in college has made enough of a difference for me to get into UVA?

You might have a good shot at UVA, but just on a devil’s advocate whim, it seems like you’re doing really well at JMU. You are very active in the community and you are clearly shining in the environment. Do you really want to go from being the shark in a pond to becoming the guppy in an ocean?

hey, a shark is a shark. It’s just a change from a pond to an ocean.

Do they normally take Sophmore transfers or only Junior?

@TheDidactic‌, I’m not sure why you’d assume the poster wouldn’t do just as well at UVa.

It’s not that I’m assuming he wouldn’t do well. I’m just taking into consideration that UVA is a very big school with a lot of students.
