Admission chances for Vanderbilt

Hi everyone, I wanted to get some more opinions on my personal chances of being accepted into Vanderbilt University. Currently, I’m a rising senior so my transcript and standardized test scores are practically done.

My unweighted GPA is a 3.5, and weighted is a 3.9/4.0. My ACT score is a perfect 36: 36 on reading / 36 on English / 36 on science / 34 on math. I have taken two SAT subject tests so far, U.S. History (800 score) and Literature (770). I am taking my last, World History, in August or some time around there.

I, by the end of senior year, will have taken 8 AP’s. One sophomore year, three junior year, and four senior year. A large reason why my UW GPA is not as high as I would have liked is because of these courses.

In terms of extra curriculars, I am treasurer for Heritage for Humanity, brown belt in martial arts, been a part in my Pre-Law club and held numerous positions, and volunteer at a start-up clinic in my home country of Bangladesh.

Please let me know what you think, and I appreciate all comments! Thanks so much!

I’m also new here, so do let me know if I have left anything out or made a mistake.

Its a reach for anyone, even you. You have great stats, but if people tell you it’s a safety, they’re lying.

Totally understand! Thanks for the input.

Scores are great, GPA will be fine as long as either 1). your class rank is reasonable, or 2). you come from a super competitive prep school. You get a little bit more leeway GPA wise if you were actually doing quite well, just in a more challenging setting. It would also help if you have 5’s in most of the AP’s you have taken already. Overall, Vanderbilt is pretty score sensitive so your strength there works in your favor.

EC’s don’t jump off the page but seem alright. If the above situation is the case for your GPA, I’d say you would have a pretty likely shot at EDI or EDII. As for RD, you would be reasonably competitive and fit in generally with the accepted pool, but you aren’t a lock or anything and it becomes a lot more difficult to predict.

I’m thinking of EDing(1), as it has become my target school per say. Very helpful though, thanks!!
