Admission chances to Cornell

Hey all,

I'm an international student thinking about applying to Cornell (early decision). I'm a junior in High school. I'm a full IB (International Baccalaureate) student with a current average GPA of 3.91. I got 2080 on my SATs and I'm involved in numerous extra-curricular activities such as Student Council and Forensics. I also hold officer positions in numerous clubs: for example, one that deals with animal preservation and a cultural heritage club for my home country. I've done high-profile internships and have volunteered at organizations abroad. I'm thinking about taking SAT2s later this year.

If I write a decent application essay when I apply, what are my chances?

what’s your ib predicted score?

I get them my senior year, i’m a junior.

I am also an international applicant, i have similar EC’s and GPA, but i have 10 AP classes and 2240 SAT…

IT might come down to if u need financial aid or not. IF you dont, u may have a 50% chance, if u do, ur chances are slim to none.

jayjay. i dont understand ppl like you. when Cornell spends all their time telling everyone they are NEEDBLIND why do u STILL insist that applying for financial aid makes a difference in admissions?

as for the author of this thread, i dont see u getting in at all as an international with a 2020 score. i have a 2310 and 4.0 and i still am doubtful of myself…

lololololololol… u actually believe that need blind crap.

Cornell isn’t need-blind for international applicants, so yes it’s a legitimate concern.

Jayjay is Canadian… Cornell is “need blind” to Canadians supposedly.

But you know what’s interesting? All those need-aware schools admit approximately same number of Canadians as “need blind to Canadians” schools. Stats suggest otherwise from what the schools say.

SO take that need blind stuff with a grain of salt.
