I am currently a junior in high school and have decided to finish my high school diploma in 3 years. I am able to do this because of my dual enrollment credits at the community college.
Currently my GPA is 3.94 UW and a 4.35 weighted. I calculated by UF GPA and it’s a 4.5
SAT: 1270
ACT: 26
I know the scores are below UF’s average because this is the first time I’ve taken both tests.
I am very involved in my school and community (will list if needed)
Just wondering if anyone else has tried to apply to schools as an early graduate and what their results were? Also will UF look at this as a negitive when deciding?
Your GPA is good, but your standardized test scores are far below average. Try to get up to a 30, and with decent extracurriculars you should be fine.
You’re wasting your time applying if you don’t raise either your SAT or ACT. You’ve got the whole second semester to study and retake it. Do a good job on it and get up to a 1350 or a 30. You’ll be competitive otherwise if you have as good ECs as you say and you write good essays.
I don’t know how UF looks at the early HS graduation aspect, but if you have not already applied then you’re at a bit of a disadvantage for this year already. Those who apply by Nov. 1 have an advantage over those who apply now, as those later applications are accepted on a “space available” basis. Also, you will be much further down the priority list for housing if you do get in. If you’re really interested in UF, maybe you could take a gap year and work on bringing up your test scores?
Are you in state? Have you discussed this with your guidance counselor?
Even with your great GPA, you likely will not get into UF with your current SAT and ACT scores. How can you explain those test scores given your stellar GPA? Take your time and do some intensive test prep to get those scores up.
I am in state and I did apply before November 1st so that’s why my test scores are low because I wasn’t planning on graduating early at the beginning of the year. So I went into both tests without preparing just to know where to start from when it came to studying.
