Admission chances

ACT: 26
GPA (out of 5.0): 4.77
Senior Year Course Load: AP Psychology, AP European History, AP English IV, AP Physics, Honors Trigonometry
State: Illinois
Ethnicity: African American
Gender: Male

My only extracurricular activities are varsity sports
I have very good recommendations if needed

Also, what scholarships would I qualify for if admitted?

The University of Iowa doesn’t look at your extra curricular activities. The admissions policy is set by a Regent Admission Index that calculates your academic stats. Here is a link to the RAI calculator. [College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Admission Requirements for First-Year Students - Requirements and Deadlines - Undergraduate Admissions - The University of Iowa](http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/requirements/rai-page.html)

Between your ACT and GPA I’m sure that you meet the minimum but I don’t know about scholarships.

You look to be good for the National Scholars Award, given your ACT of 26 and GPA. There are other scholarships available for other groups, and they are described here:
[Scholarships for First-Year Students - Undergraduate Admissions - The University of Iowa](http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/scholarships/first-year.htm)

You’re extracurriculars wont be considered, as admissions are based on your Regent Admissions Index, which has to be at least a 245 for in-state students and 255 for out of state students. Looking at your GPA and ACT score, I’m sure you’ll be admitted. you also need to meet their course requirements and class rank will be included in the RAI calculation. You’re GPA is very high, so I’m sure you’re class rank is in the top 1-5 percent. I’m sure you’ll easily go way over the 245 or 255 minimum.
