Hey guys, I applied to Richmond for regular decision and I was wondering what you guys think my chances are. Before I put my stats, it’s important to note that I moved from India to America when I was 7 years old. I have lived and studied since first grade in CT, but have yet to receive my permanent residency status so was forced to apply as an international student at these schools.
GPA: 95.23 weighted (don’t know what it is unweighted but around a 93)
SAT: 2150 (superscored)
SATII: Math 1: 750 Bio E: 670 Math 2: 680 (didn’t send)
Classes Taken: almost all honors and AP courses…4 APs junior year (APUSH, Calc AB, English Language/Comp, Macroeconomics) and 4 APs senior year (English Lit, Stats, Physics, and Euro History)…given AP Scholar with Honor my junior year for the exams
Am in the top 10 percent at my high school, which is nationally ranked and very hard.
Member of the highest vocal ensemble available at my school (top 8 students, A Capella vocal group) for the past two years, member of Chamber Singers (highest chorus) for the past three years, and an All-Conference and All-State singer; won the American Math Contest for my high school my sophomore year; All-Academic Athlete for baseball my junior year, probably Captain for my baseball team senior year
Extra Curriculars: extremely active in special-needs program called FRIENDS for the past 3 years (even volunteered as a camp counselor for the FRIENDS camp over the summer); co-founder of Project Haiti (construct and distribute device that filters dirty water for Haitians); tutored for low-income students in the city as part of a club for past 2 years; Unified Soccer student mentor for the past four years; Model-UN member past four years; member of two local charity-oriented clubs for past four years; played baseball all four years (varsity for the past 3 years); played basketball freshman and sophomore year (varsity sophomore year)
Volunteering: interned for a state senator the summer of my junior year, done A LOT of various volunteering, including umpiring for local little league baseball teams for the past 6 years
Common App essay: very personal and well-written (wrote about the role of my intimidating older brother in my life and how FRIENDS helped me gain confidence)
Had four recommendations: one from principal, one from my AP Calc teacher, one from my AP English teacher, and one from my FRIENDS program teacher (all great)
What do you guys think my chances are of getting accepted?
