Admission Chances

I posted in the Chances Thread but didn’t receive a response. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what they think my chances are.

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.): Engineering
[ *] SAT: N/A
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): N/A
[ *] 1st ACT: 31: (E: 31, M: 24, R: 35, S: 33)
[ *] 2nd ACT: 31: (E: 31, M:28, R:33, S: 33)
[ *] UM unweighted GPA: 3.983, only one B in an AP class. Several A-'s
[ *] Rank: 11/200
-My school does not weight GPA, if they did I would have above a 4.0, and would easily finish within the top 10
[ *] Other stats:
-Have taken Project Lead The Way engineering classes at my school since Sophomore year
-4 AP classes- my school offers ~8 I believe, but until this year students were not able to take more than 2 per year, and most were reserved for upper classmen
-Took AP U.S. Government last year- recieved A’s the first 2 terms and a B+ the 3rd term- got a 4 on the exam
-Taking AP calculus currently- I have an A so far
-Taking AP English currently- no grades posted yet, it just started 2 weeks ago
-Will be taking AP physics 2 next semester. My school just started offering Physics 2 this year, so all students that took regular physics as Juniors last year are skipping AP physics 1 and going to straight to AP physics 2
-Have taken other advanced courses at my school- Advanced Composition, Advanced Algebra 2A, Advanced Algebra 2B
[ *] Extra Curriculars-
-Played Football all 4 years of High School- earned an academic all conference award both years of varsity
-National Honor Society for 2 years
-Junior Rotarian in my school- the top students are picked to go eat lunch at the community rotary meetings once a week
-Rotary Interact club- community service club sponsored by Rotary International, club was founded last year at my school
-Was on the golf team my Junior year and plan to play again my senior year
-Was VERY involved in my teams first ever First Robotics Championship last year. We made it all the way to the world championship in St. Louis in our first year ever competing
-Freshman Mentoring Program- I mentored math classes an hour a day my junior year. I mentored both Geometry and Algebra 2
-I also worked part time at Pizza Hut for the better part of a year
[ *] Essays: I believe my essays were very strong. I worked closely with my English teacher to write them and got a lot of good input from her. I feel that my essay about the school of engineering captured my passion for engineering, and for the University of Michigan very well
[ *] Teacher Recs: I got my letter of recommendation from my engineering teacher, who attended college at the University of Michigan
[ *] Counselor Rec: Probably very positive, she has known me almost my entire life and hand-picked me for being a Junior Rotarian earlier this year
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.):
[ *) Location/Person: Michigan
[ *] State or Country: Michigan
[ *] School Type: Public, mid-sized, about 800 students, very few apply to Michigan but it seems that all that are near the qualifications usually get accepted
[ *] Ethnicity: White
[ *] Gender: Male
[ *] major strength/weakness: I believe that my strengths are a passion for engineering, as well as some experience with engineering. I have taken engineering classes at my school for 3 years, learning how to code as well as many other useful skills. My major weakness that I have identified is my low math ACT score, at only a 28
[ *] Other Factors/questions:

Anybody? Any opinion would be appreciated.

I don’t know Engineering very well so my opinion could be inaccurate, but your application as a whole is very nice. The only problem I see is that Math ACT score… Even the composite ACT score is below average, but the fact that your lowest sub-score was math is very concerning for a prospective engineering student.

How much of a negative effect that will have is beyond my knowledge, but seeing how that’s the only real red flag I see on your application, I’d say your UW GPA and ECs should do the trick to get you in. With that being said, don’t be surprised if you do get waitlisted cause any red flag can be more than enough reason for an admission officer to give you a waitlist.

Your ACT score is at or below the 25th percentile for CoE which ispercentile less an issue as your GPA is fine.and you are in state. The main problem is your Math section score. It is far below the 25th percentilestate (31-32). So CoE would be a reach for you even from in state. Your chance at LSA is much better though. It should be a match to high match there.
