Hi, I applied to University of Michigan to the LSA for Economics Early Action this past year and am hoping to get in!!
Stats:
3.86 WGPA(Had a concussion my sophomore year, and my grades all tanked bad for a semester, wrote an essay on it)
SAT: 1370, 740 on Math 630 CR/W(34 on English)
Numerous ECs ranging all from Officer of NHS, to captain of basketball team for 2 years
Internship with 2 different Private Equity Firms for 2 years
111 community service hours
Strong LOR
Good Essays
Out of state, but no Financial Aid Request
Private school that does not rank, but would be classified as top quarter
Please PM me if any more info is needed, as I am nervous to find out! I applied October 27th I think so hopefully that doesn’t put me at a disadvantage.
Your GPA is near admission average, while your SAT is near the low end of mid 50. It would be a reach for your from OOS.
A 3.86 Weighted GPA? What would your unweighted be? The michigan 3.87 middle number GPA is actually unweighted.
^ You are right. I overlooked that. It would be a rather high reach.
@billcsho @SchoolAdventurer I have a 6.8/8 UWGPA unweighted(I honestly have no clue why my school does it this way).
Do you have letter grades from each class?
High reach for any OoS with stats in your range. Ann Arbor is a selective school.
@billcsho yes, they are all A’s in STEM courses and mostly A’s in the remaining. A couple of B+’s, but those are in AP or honors level classes. I’ve taken over 15 Honors/APs at my school.
Then calculate our uwGPA in 4.0 scale without subgrades from ALL classes. That’s the UM way looking at your GPA.
I was deferred early action today, so hoping for the best
Good luck!
