My child is instate. Sat score of 1260 (690 verbal, 570 math) and 29 ACT (35 reading, 25 math). She was homeschooled prior to now (senior year). GPA of 3.9 unweighted. No class rank until March when her new public school ranks her. Clemson is her dream. Does it seem like she has a good chance?
Chances are really good. I would say in the 60% range, making it a very good target school. USC is about the same or higher.
@kayliemom Probably stating the obvious and something you don’t need me to tell you but if your daughter is applying for something like engineering or nursing the low math scores would probably hurt her chances of admission. On the flip side if she is looking to do something in humanities, education etc. those strong verbal, reading scores should get her admitted. Especially in state. Good luck to her.
Thank you for your response. We just got her new SAT score and it’s a little better- 1310 (710 verbal, 600 math). Hopefully, she’ll bring up the math some more. She will retake it in December, for the last time. I was just unsure as she was a homeschooled student. I did not know if this impacted her chances. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
