I am currently a junior in high school but am already looking into potential colleges. I have a 3.63 GPA and got between a 1600 and 1700 on a practice SAT test I took about two months ago. Based on my practice SAT test score that will be close to my actual score when I take it in the spring. I took more honors classes my freshamn and sophomore years than I do now. However, I am going to attempt to take at least one AP course next year and move up to honors English. I am involved in the drama club at my school. I am on the stage crew for the fall play and am in the cast for the spring musical. I volunteer at school events such as open house and freshman orientation. I am also a member of my school's Pro-Life Club. I am considering applying for student council next year. During the summer, I work as a junior camp counselor at Camp Kyle T. Woodruff, which is a day camp for children from ages 5-14 living with diabetes. This same camp hosts holiday parties and various other programs throughout the rest of the year which I volunteer at as often as possible. Does it look like I have a chance for admission next year?

I can tell you from experience that to determine that you need to do really well your junior and senior year. I had a 1750 on my SATS, GPA of 3.3 unweighted, so it would be higher. took mostly all honors, and one AP class senior year. i played sports year round every year of high school lots of community service/extracurriculars and was part of 2 clubs. and i just got my letter today and i was deferred which means i was put back into the regular decision pool (basically, wait-listed)… good luck! you can do it, your gpa is really good.

This year has definitely been my best as far as academics go so my GPA should be even higher when I apply next year. Good luck to you!
