Admission Conditions for Berkeley

<p>A lot of people have been asking what they are. I have copied and pasted my conditions from last year so everyone can see. They really aren’t that difficult to keep.</p>

<p>Continued progress in your course work is essential to your academic success at Berkeley. We urge you to earn the highest grades possible as you complete this academic year.
To maintain our offer of admission, you must satisfy the following conditions:</p>

<li><p>You must notify your Admissions Officer immediately, by email, of any additions, drops or withdrawals from courses you plan to complete this academic year.</p></li>
<li><p>You must complete at least 60 UC-transferable semester (90 quarter) units by the end of the spring 2008 term. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition.</p></li>
<li><p>You may not attend summer session 2008 for the purposes of completing a minimum of 60 UC-transferable semester units, IGETC, UC Reciprocity requirements or L&S Requirements. However, if you choose to attend summer for any other purpose (major requirements, courses of interest, etc) you must notify your UC Berkeley Admissions Officer, by email, and submit an official transcript at the end of the summer.</p></li>
<li><p>You must complete all UC-transferable courses in progress or planned with an overall B average, with no grade lower than a C. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition.</p></li>
<li><p>If you are currently enrolled at or previously attended another UC campus, you must be in good academic standing (maintained a minimum 2.00 GPA); you must not currently be on academic probation or subject to dismissal.</p></li>
<li><p>Important: If you choose to attend summer session 2008, you must notify your UC Berkeley Admissions Officer by email and your final, official transcript must be received in our office by September 5, 2008. NOTE: You may not attend a 4-year college/university without prior permission from your Admissions Officer.</p></li>
</ol>

<p>In addition, you must:</p>

ENGL 242: American Lit 2
BLST 101: Introduction to Black Studies
ENGL 272: World Literature II
ENGL 233A: Shakespeare’'s Comedy
SPAN 102: Elementary Spanish II

<p>You must submit:</p>

<pre><code>* Complete the full IGETC general breadth pattern of courses. Request official certification from your community college and submit it with your final, official transcript or have it mailed separately to our office by July 15, 2008.

  • Your final, official transcript(s), including your high school transcript, and any other required official documents, to our office by July 15, 2008; We will use these transcripts to verify the self-reported academic record that you submitted.

  • If you completed Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations, submit an official report. To arrange for AP scores to be sent, call (866) 756-7346; for IB grades, call (212) 696-4464. If you completed GCE A Level exams or GCE 0 Level exams, you must also submit those official documents.

  • Immediately submit official transcript(s) from schools where your coursework is completed; submit final official transcripts from schools you are currently enrolled in by July 15, 2008:

<p>This offer of admission does not guarantee acceptance into a specific major. You must file a petition to officially declare your major after you enroll at Berkeley. Acceptance into a major is subject to completion of departmental prerequisites and conditions.</p>

<p>Your admission to Berkeley is subject to cancellation if:</p>

  • Any information you submitted does not agree with official

<p>Yep. Currently taking English 233B (Histories and Tragedies) with Kathy :smiley: It’s nice to know that an English major from SAC made it into Berkeley is on cc. I’m going to look through your posts now; we went to the same school so they should be really useful for me :D</p>

<p>Actually, this was pretty helpful. I was wondering what to do about summer classes I intend to enroll in. I didn’t put them on my UC update because I was unsure if I was going to enroll. Thx, just have to send the email to the admissions officer, assuming I am accepted of course.</p>

<p>What are these!? Do these HAVE to be completed by the end of the spring semester to be considered for admission to any major?? This is the first I have seen these courses…</p>

<p>those were probably the classes he was enrolled in at the time and needed to be completed by the end of the semester.</p>
