<p>Hey guys, I am a recruited athlete for Chicago and I am on the email list of the head coach so I get all of the emails. I just received an email from the head track and field coach. This is what it said;</p>

<p>I'm just writing to give you an update on the early action
admissions decisions. I had a good talk with our dean of
admissions today and he indicated to me that they are
right on track with the reading of the applications and
should be able to send out decisions by no later then the
15th. If by chance they complete them earlier I will let
you know but for now I think you could expect to hear from
the University by right around the 15th of the month.</p>

<p>THat's the point- my parents would kill me if I bet anything of value. :) But the 12 makes sense....at least in my somewhat crazy mind. It was all discussed on another thread, and Facebook.</p>

<p>Last year, applicants got an e-mail that said nothing more than "Your admissions decision is ready." You had to choose to click on the link to find out your fate. Or you could wait for the snail mail. I imagine they'll keep that the same this year. It would be uncool if they told you in the subject line.</p>

<p>My year MIT made a big oops in that its acceptance tubes got mailed faster than their deferrals and rejections.</p>

<p>Ok...so I have completely lost my focus on my physics homework on optics and quantum because I am to anxious to know when I will receive my decision.</p>

<p>To try to calm me, I searched CC and found these days as the past EA release dates:</p>

Mailed Thursday, December 15, 2005
Mailed Friday, December 15, 2006...Email received Monday, Dec 18 at 5PM
Available Online Thursday, December 13, 2008</p>

<p>At least I've received some comfort knowing that decisions the last four years were ready on December 15. Hopefully this year follows suit...</p>
