Does Bowdoin email admission decisions to international students, or do we have to wait for snail mail along with everyone else?

yeah, how do they notify int'ls?

i had applied ed2 at bowdoin...got rejected though. I was notified through email. They send out emails and the snail mail too....

in past years, the emails have only been for early decision, not for regular decision. but i don't know what the policy is now, or if it is different for international applicants.

still waiting...any intl student gotten a letter yet?

any intl student gotten a letter yet?

I just got an email from the admission office, I was waitlisted, How about you guys?

I'm from Bucharest too and I got rejected :-(. Did you get any admissions Spitfire ?

I was notified (and got accepted!) through a special FedEx package a few days ago and received an email today

rejected..

Be careful international students. Bowdoin is not an accurate representation of America, but a small narrow-mined portion of it.

hey hellojane.. what did you mean by that? I saw through your other posts that you are studying at Bowdoin and that you are not very impressed or stg like that. Are you an international student as well? I would like to know more from you about Bowdoin, although I am not sure I am even considering accepting their wait list

Actually, I am from an under-representative region of the country. I cannot say where I am from bc bowdoin is small, and the wrong details could give me away, and thus the social wrath of the student body for giving a perspective, not a poltiically correct perspective. College is a huge investment, and you should make the right choice. I feel sorry from international students here that come to America for the first time thinking that Bowdoin is America. It represents a small stand of america white, waspy's enclave not to mention wealthy. Bowdoin is working on changing "becoming more diverse". But it is a rocky transitional period, and if you don't have to be a part of that period then there are better things to do with your time. I am not going to say not go to Bowdoin. I believe that you should hear good and bad experiences from everyone. If you are going to go to a small elite liberal arts school, then they tend to be similiar. I

I am giving a perspective because I know what it was like to be a perspective college student, and you go to forums like this hearing only the "good" aspects of a college. The bottom line is that all colleges are a brand, and they are businesses looking for an endowment return.

hellojane, thanks for sharing your experience, I am an Asian International student who is accepted by Grinnell and Hamilton. Does Hamilton have the same problems? Thanks!

Similar types of schools tend to have similar type of mindsets. That does not mean that you cannot benefit from these schools. A lot of people are not happy in their jobs, education career, lives, but people tend to stick with opportunity for advancement. If I were you, I would go with the school that has the best financial aid package, and play the system. Good luck :-(

yeah. don't listen to hellojane, he's real negative cause he's had a hard time making friends.

don't go to grinnell..i got in there, it's in the middle of nowhere. hamilton vs bowdoin..depends on what you're looking for. i do agree with hellojane that fincial aid should be strongly considered. because colleges in the U.S. are ridiculously expensive.

but everywhere you go there will be prejudice and it really doesn't matter..hellojane has clearly had a bad experience but other schools could have more/less students who have to face racism, who knows? you can't put a blanket statement on how well you will fare socially at a certain school, which is what hellojane is trying to do. and then trying to justify it by going "well im not saying don't go to bowdoin..but..my life has sucked here because i dont have any friends.."

Wow cilyboi, you have no idea what you're talking about. I guarentee you this kid knows more people on this campus than you do, and I also guarentee you that he knows more people who are disgruntled with this college than you do total.

can't we all just get along?
dang .

why should be be able to get along? Dave and Cody are busy having fun insulting the school. I'd say let them go.
