Admission Decision

I was admitted today with a 3.78 and 30 ACT with many extracurriculars. I do have a question though if anyone here knows, I declared Marketing major on my application but on the app status website it says I was admitted for business administration, does that mean I wasn’t admitted to the marketing major?

Some colleges like engineering you get admitted only to ‘General Engineering.’ Depending on first year performance, one can get into specific majors in engineering. I suspect the same might be true for business, just a speculation.

Accepted to Columbus Campus (Intl Student)

Electrical and Computer Engineering

SAT: 1860
GPA: 3.7ish
Indian male
National basketball player, national boxer, state record in high jump, the usual

Admitted OOS Male
Biochemistry/Premed
ACT:28
GPA:3.55/4.32( unweighted/weighted)
NHS,HOSA, Band(marching and concert), Spanish club,French Club
This is my first choice but it all depends on scholarship
offers and whether or not I get invited to the honour/scholar programmes if I accept or not. Im still waiting on a few other schools

MissMkay13 - In the Business School all degrees received are a BS in Business Administration with a specialization in ________________ (yours would be Marketing). So you’re accepted into the business school and will take the general business curriculum - not sure at what point you declare your specialization. I know it will depend on college GPA and applicant pool. HTH

Congrats to all the new Buckeyes - Husband and I are both alumni, oldest son is now applying to grad school there (received his BS from OSU), middle son is in 3rd year and youngest son is a freshman! And we’re OOS!

Okay, that makes sense now. Thank you so much for the clarification user1001 and Bearvet!

For people saying that they got accepted to Fisher? Does it say that? or does is it say
Ubus (undergrad business)?

I thought a student needed to be accepted to honors and scholars before direct admission to Fisher was announced. Am I wrong??

29happymom26 My D’s acceptance on website says undergrad business. I think you are right that you need to be accepted to honors or scholars first and then direct admission to Fisher is announced. She should get into Honors or Scholars based on her stats and what thresholds are mentioned on the website. I presume that comes sometime in the next month but if someone else knows the timeline please share.

Thanks for the clarification. S is not a sure thing for Honors or fisher so it will definitely make a difference in his interest level when he finds out.
