Admission Decision

I'm in-state and applying to UW by the Dec 1st deadline, and was curious as to how fast most of you got your notification of acceptance/rejection. Sooo...

1) When did you submit your app?
2) When did you get notification?
3) What kind of envelope? Thick/thin? Depending on acceptance/rejection.

Thanks!

What kind of envelope? Thick/thin? Depending on acceptance/rejection.

I haven't received any notification yet, but for 99% of colleges (esp. large ones), a thick "package" is good, and an envelope is waitlist/rejection. Most don't try and trick you lol.

I think my son submitted his application in late November and had an acceptance by mid-January. It came in quickly enough that he didn't bother finishing an application that was due Feb. 1 since UW was higher on his list than that college. My recollection is that the envelope was large but thin, so that the one or two pieces of paper inside weren't folded. But I think he'd already found out by checking his status on the website -- it'll say something like "Status -- freshman, fall of 0-" after you are accepted.

The top applicants (like those that will receive undergrad scholarships) come before Christmas, around December 20th. After that, it seems random.

Oh, seriously? Before Christmas. Wow.

I'm going to try and send in my app BEFORE the deadline. For once.

Wait - the December 1st deadline? What's that? I thought it was do in January 15th.

December 1st if you want to be considered for scholarships--but I know someone that applied in january and received scholarships. Probably best to meet the Dec. 1st deadline for scholarships though.

I think I applied like a day before the deadline (yes, I procrastinated) on January 15th and I got accepted a month later.
