When will be notified if son is admitted?

When will the financial aid package come, shortly after, or closer to the decision deadline?

Here you go:

[Admissions Calendar | Marquette University](http://www.marquette.edu/student/ugrad/admissioncalendar.shtml)

Checked back, S’s admission letter was dated 1/7 and the first FA offer 3/17–with a lot of adding machine tape used in between.

1tgmom, you are so funny!

When son was given his admission letter on 1/7, did it not include any merit scholarships he might have received?

Do you have to wait until March to find out if you got the Ignatius or Magis or whatever other merit scholarships Marquette may offer?

When our D went through the process four years ago SLU included the merit award in the admission notification but MU sent them separately with the merit award trailing by at least 30-45 days as I recall.

^ well, isn’t that just a little annoying? I mean, to apply in Sept and wait 3mos for a decision is moderately annoying, but to wait an additional month to hear about Ignatius is really super annoying. I have to say, I don’t get it.

If memory serves, the Ignatius notification came the first week of February and the Magis addition followed a week or two later.

Don’t forget that the scholarship competitions aren’t until February, anyway.

I wouldn’t sweat the timing. Because it’s pooled admissions, they haven’t even decided who is admitted until January. Then they have to go back and figure out scholarships, financial aid, etc.

SLU, on the other hand, is rolling admissions. That means they pretty much decide whether you’re admitted or not as soon as your application is complete. That means that their financial aid and scholarship offers can be on a rolling basis as well.

staceyglow – Yes, exactly.

Trying to remember now – I think my daughter’s admissions letter came later in January (around the 12th or so?) and the Ignatius came just two or three days later.
She had to wait another month to hear about DPT (physical therapy admittance.)
