Admission Decisions Class of 2023

Has anyone heard in Texas?

@lsufan4301 yes. My daughter received hers the first week they started releasing. We are from Deep East Texas

Whoops! I should have clarified this round!

Has anyone in CT heard back?

I live in CT, heard back last night! I got a letter in the mail.
I got in!!! Yay.
I think everyone in the Northeast will hear back by tonight.

@Scarlet1 My understanding is that acceptance into Honors (or Capstone) does not affect the merit amount offered to new students. It sounds like right now your D has been awarded at least the “Superlative” level. Her academic stats will dictate whether she receives more (maybe Excellence or Elite) according to these general guidelines: https://sc.edu/about/offices_and_divisions/undergraduate_admissions/tuition_scholarships/scholarships/nonresidents/index.php
Plenty of OOS students receive no merit or one of the scholarships listed below Superlative, so I would say that her award is not typical. It’s something she should be really proud of.

If your D does get into the Honors College, there may be other scholarships that she can apply for in future years.

I submitted my EA application on the day of the deadline, but did not self report additional ACT scores until November 14th. I sent in the June ACT score the day of the deadline, but it presumably did not reach the school until after the deadline. Will this push me back to regular decision? Thanks.

Does anyone on here know of anyone getting a deferral letter? I was told they are sent the same time as the Early Decision Acceptances but we’ve gotten nothing at all still and, considering she got into colleges that are supposedly more picky, we are a little concerned as this is her #1. :frowning:

Just received acceptance along with the promise of a scholarship of at least 45,000 $

Pennsylvania
GPA- 3.95 (UW)
AP: Psychology, Art, Biology (school offers very little AP’s)
SAT - 1390
EC’s- Founder of Newspaper, Pres of Spanish Honors Society, Violin, Math Honor Society, National Honors society, Writing Honors Society, Varsity Diving

Major: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

They said my scholarship amount would be confirmed in March but they stated I definitely would be receiving at least 45,000$

Has anyone received similar scholarship offers in their letter?

that makes me feel better! I wish they would just mail out all at once like every other school We applied well before the due date and have no concern about admissions as students is well above but he would just like to have the YES envelope and look forward to hearing from honors etc.

how do you check the portal?

Heard yesterday in NY. 88 GPA, 34 ACT, 1450 SAT, applied Polisci, at least 40k. Really hoping for full tuition as my om really doesn’t want me going to Alabama and I want a warm safety school.

As I read it, incoming freshman could qualify for a Top Scholar scholarship (Stamps, McNair, Horseshoe) or the Alumni scholarship. But it does not seem acceptance to Honors is guarantee of any further scholarship. The supplemental application to Honors College is also the application for these scholarships. But they seem very limited. Presumably, any of these are awarded on acceptance to the Honors college.

I just received my acceptance letter today in MA with at least 85K. Its my first college acceptance! I can share stats if anyone is interested.

Please share your stats. Thanks!
