ADMISSION DECISIONS FALL 2016 (CLASS OF 2020)

i think everyone needs to realize it is november 14th. the deadline isn’t until tomorrow. some people do hear quickly and some take a little longer. It doesn’t mean you won’t get in. when my brother applied it took 4 weeks exactly to hear. I am still waiting it is going on 4 weeks since completion. lets all take deep breaths…

^Yes to what Jkenny said…It is way too early to infer anything, as the EA deadline has not even passed! It may be different ADcoms are around and putting them through? Don’t “expect” a week or two turn around!

As for SCEA, maybe they look harder bc you have put more interest on the line and want to give them all a separate read through?

Maybe the blow through high stats first? Weeding out the “no interest ones”? Who knows. Point is, do not assume deferral until you are told that!

PS: to whomever said, Tulane is no one’s safety…it’s the #41 school in the county for heaven’s sake!

@fallenchemist Im an international student and my biggest concern is money :frowning: In the certification of finance I demonstrated that I could only afford 35000/year.

  • My SAT I: 2030 (CR 560 MATH 740 WR 730)
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.76/4 (converted from 9.4 on scale 10 of my country's grading system)
  • My recommendations, resume and ECs are pretty ok/good.. MUN, President of Teen's Entrepreneur club, student government, ambassador of a project of AIESEC, volunteered in hospital and blind association, have been working as a cafe manager since 16, etc
  • My personal statement is my hope indeed... It is quite good.
  • My "Why Tulane' essay (which I asked you to have a look at) is pretty ok.

Yet I understand that Tulane is need-aware and I’m very worried because if they cannot fill the gap of money, I would be immediately rejected. You think I could have any chance? :frowning: I applied with EA choice btw

I just am not that informed on international aid. I think the law requires them to be need aware for international visa purposes, because Tulane is need blind otherwise. I agree you are an excellent candidate, but I just think you have to work closely with Tulane’s financial aid office.

Didn’t even receive an email but accepted.
2180 SAT 800 M 760 W 620 CR
99.5 W GPA
Many AP’s (Euro, World, Physics 1, US History, Chemistry, Calc BC, US Government, and Microeconomics)
Little to no EC’s
Didn’t do the optional essay either

@ATLGA1

Tulane doesn’t send emails for acceptances. Congrats on being admitted.

Thanks for the nice comments. Son will finish the PT/DHS applications/video - already underway, when he returns from BOA Grand Nationals Marching Competition in Indy. They performed in semi-finals around 11am today and will know if they advance to finals in about 2 hours. I believe they will. They go alternating years, and won it all in 2013.

My father recently retired Professor of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M and commented the following about Tulane:

“Tulane is exceptional for academic preparation in medical and health science career development. Some of my DVM colleagues completed their PhD degrees there and have excelled in academic education and research.”

Sounds awesome to us.

[li]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: Wished he had gotten some tutoring for SAT and ACT tests. Tulane may be the best college he’ll get accepted at but $65K-$20K=$45K per year. Very thankful for it, but unless we can get some financial assistance, UT Austin or Texas A&M at <=$25K/yr will be hard to walk away from. Crossing our fingers because Tulane is an awesome school. Congrats and Good luck everyone!!![/li][/ul]

Hi, I just knew that I was accepted a few days ago on my portal. Does anyone know when will the official letter arrive? They send it by mail, not email, right? I’m an international student from China so I’m kinda worried that it’ll take, like, a few months to get here… :frowning:

does anyone know if they release decisions on the weekends? thanks

They have in the past, but you never know year to year.

@nervousinMD4224 my decision came yesterday (Saturday) so yes

Do you only find out if you received merit scholarships when you get your letter in the mail, or are some people seeing this on the gibson portal and if so, where? Thanks

@myjanda you can only get your merit scholarships through the mail.

thanks @Chopinspiano!!

I sent in my SCEA application yesterday afternoon, does anyone know when I will receive my Gibson login id/pin?
