Admission decisions out

Got the email today from Mason, and S is in! Takes some of the suspense off of the next few weeks!

congratulations to your s

Thanks! It's his safety, but it is sure nice to feel wanted somewhere while waiting on the other decisions!

D got her acceptance letter in mail today. It seems to be too much of a commuter school to her- but the proximity to DC and Internship possibilities sure make this school seem very interesting. Good luck to all.

Are the acceptance/rejection letters already out? If so, what kind of stats for acceptance does anyone have? Thanks!

What are the stats for the people who've been accepted and when did you get them. I understand it's email or letter in the postal mail? Which is it? Thanks.

D got acceptance letter today (in mail). She is OOS (NY)- 89 average (3.4??)- 23 ACT (not good SAT's- didn't provide score to GMU). Good EC's, (mostly sports) & good Recom. My guess is they're sending them out in batches and you'll probably hear any day. Good luck

Okay...thanks. I'm asking for my d too. That acutally sounds about where she is at. We live in the area. The other schools she applied to in VA are more competitive and GMU would be the better of the other schools she has applied to in VA. I didn't realize you didn't have to provide them with ACT or SAT scores? Is that what you are saying? Thank you!

I did provide them with the ACT score. A 23 ACT is equivalent to a 1060 SAT. Did not give them SAT score as it was lower. Just about all colleges will take one or the other.

Thanks very much! My D had a 1060 on her SAT, that's kind of funny they basically have the same stats. I'm read your daughter got into Towson. I know someone who's daughter goes to Towson and she loves it. Her other daughter wanted to go there, but she got waitlisted.

OMG --GMU just beat UNC. Maybe my d will rethink going to GMU. She was thinking of a sports management or health/fitness major. Campus may be alot more active next year on the week-ends. My d sort of ruled out Towson too. Thinks the atmosphere is too "Long Island". That is where we are from and I guess she wants to get away from that "sameness".

Go Patriots! I'm sure lots of people will be checking them out now.

BTW-was D's acceptance a regular envelope or a larger envelope? Thanks. Oh, and I agree especially if Mason keeps winning...there will be more applicants next year.

Yes Marny, we did just beat GMU. And I promise you, you will never see this campus as it has been for a while. The bars were insane, parties were crazy, etc ... all during Spring Break when most students were gone. If we get to the Elite 8 ... your daughter might want to visit again just to see the uproar that will occur. About the commuter school comment, if you aren't from this area ... you don't notice that too much. If you're from this area, that's where the commuter school thing makes it hard. We have roughly 8000 that live on campus, about 2000 that live off campus with roommates, and a bunch of commuters. However, the commuter establishment by far doesn't take the fun away from GMU.

this is sort of troublesome. I live in Roanoke, which is 3 hours away form GMU but I haven't got anything from them yet. But, marny you said you live in NY and have gotten the materials. I wonder how they are sending the letters out?

They could be doing OOS first. I think they really are trying to get a more national reputation. Be patient-I'm sure good news will follow soon.

I'm in!

I'm goin to a Final Four School!

congrats everyone. I'm going there next year as well, just got my acceptance!
