Congrats to Maddog and daughter!! Bb-mom. Where do You live? We are west. 3/15 sounds like the date-- good luck!!

Zia-We are east, so between the two of us we’ve got the edges covered. :)

East coast. USPS delivered large envelope with acceptance and merit offer today!

Son was admitted today via hard-copy mail. FA decision did not accompany admit notification. Good luck to everone else!

We’re right smack in the middle!

Denver is D’s first choice. And I am glad it’s coming in the mail. She has been extremely independent/private throughout this entire process to the point that my only info comes from CC and the boards of the schools to which she applied! So frustrating, but she’s the last one of three and I have to let the small stuff go (as long as she also understands our info quotient is slightly larger than just knowing where to send a check)!!

OK… so both of those acceptances came to the East coast today?

Big envelope, huh? S ('09) had a mix of small and large envelopes for both acceptances and the one rejection (Dartmouth rejection came via portal, where they give you the option of being mailed a hard copy - as if you’d want that.)

Modadunn, yes, we are on the east coast. I hope you receive your large envelope today or tomorrow. Sending positive thoughts your way…

Thanks BB mom… she applied to no rolling admission schools so at this point we are working with zero. Hoping whatever school comes first, it’s a yes. If that was Denver? The rest would be a cake walk. Hoping for a big fat envelope today. Our mail hasn’t been getting delivered until nearly the end of the day these days… ugh!

Moda-My elation was quickly tampered when H asked, “How much does DU cost?” ($54K) YIKES.

bbson had one rolling app and that came in right away. Then other RD acceptances trickled in during January and February, so he has 5 acceptances and one reach rejection (ED2) thus far. We have one more, a big reach, that is almost certain to be a rejection. We have only a tiny bit of merit $ from one school and don’t expect much, if any, to come in from FA packages. Our EFC is sky-high and son’s GPA is 3.4-3.6 depending on the calculation, so we expect to be footing the big fat bill!

Let us know when your mail arrives. I feel good vibes and good news coming your way! :)

[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:U Denver came first…[/li][/ul]General Comments: Got a Dean’s scholarship! I’m happy:) DU is one of my safety schools though. GOod luck everyoneee

My S’s current tuition (comprehensive fee) is $53,420. Add in books and travel, it’s really about $55.5K… Yes, I’m very familiar with the sticker shock, and have also learned to strongly consider the cost of travel to and from a particular school/home. Getting to and from S’s school isn’t nearly as expensive if you don’t need to travel over thanksgiving or Christmas break… which of course is the ONLY time he needs to definitely travel by plane.

And I have to say…I do like the comprehensive fee route. He eats as much as he wants and lives wherever he wants - all for the same price. DU’s menu of tuition by credit hours, various living situations and meal plans make it busier target. Depending on where you live and what you eat, you could swing a couple grand! And we’d be one of those families that whatever it is, will be on us. Merit $ is unanticipated for the same relative GPA as you mention, and financial aid calculations make the idea of filling out a FAFSA an exercise in futility.

Mail still not here. I am stressed FOR her and she doesn’t even know it should come today -or if she does, she didn’t mention it to me.

Moda-Travel was a big expense for us with our older child who has now graduated. Airfare for S to/from Denver will be a fraction of the cost due to Denver being a hub for Southwest. RT will be about $350 for S if he attends DU vs. the $600-800+ we paid for D! Two or three of those trips per year add up quickly!

Will your mail EVER arrive???!!! :)

Mail FINALLY came just now! BIG (although not overly fat) ENVELOPE FROM DU! Yeah!!!

My DS is in today from CA!!! No FA in the package yet. I think they still want our tax transcript?? But they have the IDOC so don’t know why they need this too.

Acceptance today!! Large envelope - no fin aid yet. Hooray ! Congrats everyone!!

happy dance for everyone’s kids!

Waitlisted.

So sorry, Mdndad…

prolonging the waiting is torture.

And congrats to all of you who got in ! My S2 graduated from DU last spring…he had an excellent 4 years there and was very sad to close that chapter of his life.

I got accepted today! I got a Dean’s scholarship, which helps with the rather hefty tuition.

S got his acceptance today! Waiting for UC schools now but he likes DU. Anyone else from California?
