Admission Decisions

I’m a domestic student. I have a 29 ACT score and I have a 3.8 unweighted in an extremely competitive magnet high school. I showed a lot of demonstrated interest to my admissions counselor, had an interview, and visited the campus twice in a two week period. With a 33% acceptance rate this year, it’s quite obvious F&M cared deeply about fit and demonstrated interest.

I am going to guess that early notifications are sent to those who do not need a lot of aid. Anyone with information on that?

if you look at the FB admissions page - there are pictures of the decisions going to the post office today - envelopes both big and small!!!

I mean I applied for financial aid so i think this voids any sort of presumption on aid status having a bearing on when one hears back from the College.

myrtoz- I saw that!

Decisions aren’t posted online yet, I wonder if they will be before we get our letters. Hopefully they will arrive sooner rather than later!

Just got my decision. Wait listed! Got it through the mail

Where do you live?

Waitlisted from CT.

I’m from nj!

Accepted from PA!

D got a wait-list letter today. Not too disappointed, as she has been accepted at some peer schools. F&M is a wonderful school, and good luck to all those still waiting to hear.

Wait-list… NYC

D accepted in VA - very very happy!

Accepted in NJ! 4.002 weighted gpa, 1990 sat, 700 us 720 English sat II, English major, dance minor

Waitlisted in FL.

I got mine last week but I live close to F&M. I’ll post this here in case anyone is wondering about stats for accepted students.

Decision: Accepted

Stats:

SAT Total: 2190 M: 770, CR: 800, WR: 620,
ACT: 33
SAT Subject Tests: US History: 750 Math II: 800

Rank: 13/421
AP/IB classes: 5 or 6

Subjective:

Essays: 7/10
Teacher Recs: 7/10
Counselor Rec: dunno
EC highlights: Editor of school paper, regional literary magazine, writer for national literary magazine, writing award winner etc.

Location/Person:

State or Country: PA
School Type: Public

Gender: M

Other Factors, hook?: First generation college student (don’t know if that matters).

my personal opinion is that F&M looks for “unique” kids. My dd was accepted last year, homeschooled, 2130 SAT, 3.95 GPA (uw), puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, , 4H dog club (participating and placing in regional events), lots of animal related ECS. She also submitted, as an extra, a powerpoint that included photos of her artwork (she paints sneakers, and makes jewelry from recycled items) short essays on some of her activities with photos and a short video of herself showing in the ring.

Her roommate is a dancer & photographer, who wants to be an archaeologist and has written articles about a class trip to Machu Picchu. Most of the kids she’s met seem to have some kind of specialty.

Did anyone get off wait list?

What day did you all hear?

It appears to be in the March 20-something range.
