Admission Decisions

Just received a huge letter saying “We Choose You.” Good luck everyone!!!

Has any international student heard about his/her decision via mail or email yet?

@Rootsian Nope… I’m afraid that maybe I was rejected

@YvonneYang Yeah I think so too. Let’s just hope for the best!

Admitted today with a very generous financial aid package. Keep checking your emails every 10 minutes. Good luck to all you guys.

@Rootsian Let’s pray!
@teddy96 Congratulations and thank you for suggesting :slight_smile:

@teddy96 Congratulations! At what time did you receive the email?

@Rootsian
I’m an international student, and I was actually contacted by “snail mail” yesterday. I also received an email, but something like 3 hours ago. Accepted with 95% aid

@Cefixim Thank you for the prompt reply. Could you please also tell us about your stats?

Objective
SAT I (CR, M, W): Did not take
ACT (breakdown): 33 ( 32E, 36M, 29R, 36S )
TOEFL: 111
SAT II (place score in parentheses): Math L2 800, Physics 790
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.85 - I have like 15 subjects in my country, very, very rigorous

Subjective
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parentheses): really good, lots of national competition in computer science, international competition in Physics…it’s a lot, but mostly sciences
Job/Work Experience: None
Volunteer/Community Service: teaching computer science on CS camps
Summer Activities: busy every summer with volunteering, competitions, working on the Physics institute, international camps…
Essays: very good, different
Teacher Recommendations: really good, they know me well
Counselor Rec: Did not know me that well
Interview: excellent interview, I was on an international competition in Taiwan, and the interviewer was from Taiwan, so we hit the common ground quickly

Other
State (if domestic applicant):
Country: Croatia
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: White
Income Bracket: laughable for USA
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Absolutely nothing!

Reflection
Strengths: high scores, good grades, a lot of competitions and activities
Weaknesses: maybe I was too much into sciences (not a lot of sports or arts in my resume)

Just called admissions. Decisions will be on the portal this evening. They said some decisions were mailed and others would be on the portal. Seems to me that only acceptances were mailed and rejected will be on the portal.

When exactly did they mail admissions?

No decision yet…

I received my acceptance email at 9.10 p.m (in my country), which was about 10.10 a.m in US.

Just keep a postive attitude, keep checking your emails. Maybe they just send mail/email in waves to ease the process. Still haven’t heard anything doesn’t mean you are rejected.

@teddy96 can you tell us your stats? and if you applied for financial aid? :slight_smile:

Decisions are on the portal!

I got waitlisted… but I kind of feel a little happy. I am an international student with a HUGE need (almost a full ride) with regular stats. I though I was going to be rejected like the other 3 schools I applied.

SAT: 2090 (M: 750, CR: 690, W: 650)
GPA: 3.85 UW
IB Diploma

Let’s hope I can have a chance in the future.
Good luck everyone!

@Guiller19 Thank you for telling me the news immediately! I was also on the wait list. I really hope that I have chance to be enrolled finally.
Good luck!

I also got wait listed

Looks like everyone who was accepted in the US received their acceptance by mail a few days prior to the portals being updated and everyone else was waitlisted or rejected after the letters arrived. :frowning:
