Admission Decisions

Rejected.

This year was the most cometitive they said.

I'm sorry....:(

I'm sorry, you have my sympathy

How can you tell if you were rejected, I thought it'll be a few more minutes till you're able to check the page?

I got a thin letter...thanks for your sympathy. (: I'll be going to UCSD this fall instead unless I get into Pomona College. Did you apply to Pomona?

Yeah, I actually applied to both pomona and pitzer. I found out I got into UCLA and UCSC. I'm from the east but about half of my apps went out west to CA

just checked online.. rejected as well.. dayum... good luck everyone else

Your application has been given careful consideration by the Claremont McKenna College Admission Committee. They have voted to place your name on the Alternate List. If you wish to remain on our Alternate List, please return the enclosed postcard before May 1.

cmc was my second-to last choice of 12 schools anyway =]

good luck guys~

Didn't get in. Oh well, I got into UCLA which is my first choice, so not getting into CMC doesn't really change anything. But it still doesn't feel good to get rejected :(. Congrats to everyone who got in though!

Your application has been given careful consideration by the Claremont McKenna College Admission Committee, and I am sorry to have to tell you that they felt they had to vote not to accept you for entrance for the Fall of 2006.

I would like to assure you that this decision was made only after the Committee had made a thorough appraisal of all of your credentials. However, because we received 3,580 applications for only 265 freshman spaces, we cannot accept all who applied. The Admission Committee was faced with a substantial challenge in making so many difficult decisions on whom to admit and whom to deny. It was the most competitive year in the history of the College. Disappointments are, therefore, unavoidable.

I am very sorry we could not do more for you, and I do hope you will be successful in gaining entrance elsewhere.

CMC was my second choice and USC is my first .... still havent heard from USC :'(

waitlisted. pooh. >_>

Alternate
s'okay, i already know where i'm going to school

waitlisted. at the bottom of my list (plus I've got other options), so not sad. I won't be placing my name on the list.

congrats to those who got in!
to those who didn't, keep your heads up. With such a small school, they truly are building a class, which makes its admissions more difficult and luck does factor in. You'll do great things in the years to come.

I was waitlisted :( I'm totally disapointed. I really, really liked this school

Waitlisted.... does anyone know the stats on how many people got this?

rejected! oh well. claremont was very low on my list of 11 anyhow... good luck to everyone else and congrats to those who got in!

don't worry, happywanderer, you'll find a place that's awesome for you. really!

Happywanderer: Don't give up on the waitlist! There is a good chance you will be admitted. My daughter recently visited CMC. She roomed with two students who both had originally been waitlisted.

I got in. I didn't even expect it. Now I'm tied between USC and CMC. (though I won't hear from my first choice until April)

on studentsreview.com cmc was much higher...but it depends what you want. If I had the choice, I would pick CMC if I were to major in Ntl rltns, econ, or poli sci, but usc for social work, film school, business, and for greek life. Also depends what you want..location: big city or small town. good luck!
