How do you know when you have been accepted? Does it show up on the main page of the Student Tracker, or did you get an email? Thank you!
what major did u apply for?
Yes it shows up on the place where it says “All of your required application materials have been received by the priority deadline. Thank you! Admission decisions are sent on a rolling basis beginning in October. All students who submit complete applications by the priority deadline will receive their decisions by the end of February.”
I applied for biology. I guess I’m just getting nervous seeing all the acceptances, but it’s only October. Thank you for your help!

That is just a quick, general overview
My son’s stats are similar to yours- no word either. Not many CBS acceptances yet from watching the boards- just a few clearly outstandingly superior candidates. Seems like CBS is going slower than the other colleges.
@khidhala that is really reassuring, thank you. Do you think they get more applicants and that is why it’s taking longer?
On the website they say that last year there was a 3% increase from the year before and they expect the same this year.
@eligarar If I just received that email you mentioned, about what time range would I receive a decision? Also, will rolling admissions decrease my chances a lot, because I’ve heard many people apply super early and receive decisions already. Lastly, would I receive a decision on app tracker, my email, or both. Sorry for the rant-really nervous
@UniversityGeek, it’s not actually “rolling admissions” but “rolling decisions”. They roll out decisions in order of application strength and perhaps other criteria (such as residency status or choice of college). The ones we are seeing now may have applied super early, or they may have applied two weeks ago. But each one has obvious stats for admission to U of MN. My D2 applied to CLA by third week of August and we have yet to hear back - we are in-state, and based on the CC postings it seems the majority of decisions received so far have been for out-of-state students and for some of the other colleges: CSE, CSOM, and CBS. Not all, but most.
If you have applied by the priority deadline of Dec. 15 and your stats are within the norms for the college of choice, then you should be OK. Probability of acceptance goes way down after Dec. 15 (because they don’t have space), although they have been known to admit some exceptionally strong applicants after that date. But all else equal, it’s best to get your application in before Dec. 15.
Last year a whole bunch of decisions came out in January and it seemed that by early February they were through with “admits” and started posting waitlists or declines. This year the Tracker message reads that everyone will have a decision by end of February.
The Tracker will have the most current information on your application status. Some have received e-mails but that doesn’t seem to be a given. Last year my D1 received her admission decision via Tracker, then a couple weeks later received her admission packet via regular mail. Don’t depend on e-mail - instead, just check your Tracker regularly.
@Mamelot Thank you so much for the clarification. I’m also in-state applying to Carlson. Finger crossed hoping for the best and good luck to your D2.
