How did you guys get decisions so early?

they don't send out all decisions at once, it all comes out in bunches.

Ya, but I thought it was UC policy to wait until March. Why is Riverside exempt?

i don't think its a UC policy. i think UCs decide when they want to release decisions.

^ Ok. I've never heard of that from any of the UCs, but that's the best explanation, I guess.

When u apply to the UCs, you should get an e-mail telling you to make an account on their site, and sometimes it'll say when they plan to release decisions.

e.x: An e-mail i got from UCSD said that they will release decisions between the middle and end of March. The one i got from UCLA said they will start releasing decisions towards the end of March, 2009. The one i got from UCR said this "Start checking your MyUCR account on FEBRUARY 1 (if you're a freshman) and MARCH 1 (if you're a transfer student) because we'll begin posting admission decisions. We'll continue to post decisions throughout the month, so keep checking your account to find out if you've been admitted!! "

so yeah.

Ya, I got messages like that too. I just assumed that all UCs released in March and the smaller school, like Riverside, would release earlier in the month than the bigger ones, like UCLA.

Whatev, it doesn't matter to me; all my UCs said mid to late March.

do u guys intend to SIR?

lol

or wait for the other results?

I'm waiting for Santa Cruz. It's my first choice....Riverside is my backup but I do plan on visiting the campus soon.

Im waiting for UCLA, UCB and UCI

What's UCB?

^It's Berkeley or CAL whatever you want to refer it as

I applied for transfer admission to UCR (transferring from a private four year university in CA). My GPA is 3.03. Do I have a chance? Btw, is UCR really an easy school?

UCR is a good school regardless of having the 2nd highest admission rates

I don't think it's easy dude.

Hm, I think it depends on the caliber of the student and the classes/major you're planning on taking. I hear the honors program is fairly challenging. I would say easy is a relative term, but I definitely think that UCR is easier to do well in than, say, Cal or UCLA. The fact that it takes everybody who's met the A-G requirements in LA says a lot, in comparison to the other much more competitive UCs. I'm not bashing on UCR; I'm just saying that it probably is easier than the others.
