<p>We all hate essays, so I felt like starting a thread about it.
So what's your least favorite/hardest essay?
You can take out all your anger here :P</p>
<p>Mine is: In this assignment, you are to look at yourself in a mirror for a full five minutes. While we often glance at ourselves in a mirror many times a say, many of us do not stop to see what we really look like. Record what you see. Look deeply into the mirror and look beyond the reflection. Be sure to look at yourself for a full 5 minutes (out the timer on. No skipping.) Then write down any and all impression.
From your notes, write a well-developed essay sharing all that you saw about yourself. create pre-write notes, a rough draft showing the assigned FCA's and red pen revisions and a typed final draft. This should be a one-page essay</p>
<p>GAH I HATE IT. So I looked at myself for 5 minutes today and it was plenty useless. -.-</p>
<p>What school is this essay for?</p>
<p>Oh my god that sounds horrible.
I hate the vague ones like, “Write about something important to you.” or “Describe a challenge that engaged you 100 percent and what it taught you about yourself.”
Those are annoying.
Or the ones that are all about finding deeper meaning. Blechh.</p>
<p>hopeful - Oh it wasn’t for a school essay. Or should I say admission essay. You know how for some schools you need to submit a current writing piece that you wrote with the teacher’s corrections and grade? Well my teacher is making me write a new essay, and that’s the topic. Sorry I should’ve been more clear on that.</p>
<p>csi- Omg those two are horrible!!! I wish I started my essays earlier. I’m squishing them all into holiday vacation. Poop.</p>
<p>Same here. I’ve started ‘late’ too. All my friends that are doing them over break are already done. I’ve barely started hehe</p>
<p>Exeter’s essays were so easy. At least I liked them.
- The topic was right a time you felt challenged/succesful and how you handled it.
- Write about a topic of your choice
- your favorite activity or hobby
And there were 2 more that I can’t remeber right now.
You didn’t have write all 5 just 2 and I finished them a couple of weeks ago.</p>
<p>i hate the ones that are like “describe a challenge you have faced. how did you overcome it? how has it changed you?” or describe a member that you now personally outside of your immediate family who has had an impact on your life.</p>

<p>Oh I like Exeter’s too! Like one is talk about your favorite song or something. I’ll definitely be writing that one.</p>

<p>i absolutely loved exeter’s and andover’s prompts. deerfield’s and choate’s…not so much.</p>
<p>My son is in the throws of writing his essays as we speak. To ease the stress, we like to come up with the worse possible answers to the prompts. For instance, the ones asking about when you’ve stumbled and what you’ve learned, just write “I don’t learn from my mistakes.”</p>
<p>Ha Ha LOL neatoburrito that is what I used to do before I accidently wrote one of them and sent it to the school…just kidding LOL 
I actually used to do that though. :D</p>
