I'm going to community college starting this fall, and I want to go to davis for EE or another engineering major. Since all engineering majors are selective, the transfer program isn't guaranteed. What GPA do I really need to get in?

Try to get a 4.0.

I’ll leave it at this, my roommate who applied to UCs out of a CSU had a 3.7 GPA and pretty much all the prereqs done(he had a year’s worth of AP credits and took something like 20-25 units a quarter). He only got into UCI, all the others rejected him.

For what it’s worth he started as an aerospace engineering major, then he added a second major in EE, then he dropped aerospace, then he added applied physics… and minored in comp sci and math. He averaged around 25 units a quarter post transfer.

TLDR: higher GPA is better, finish your prereqs.

pre req completion over GPA. my friend attempted to get into EE at Davis with a 3.8 and missing three pre reqs. didn’t happen

just do TAG

my buddy got into electrical with a 2.8. he didnt get in any where else though. but he did have GREAT grades in all his science classes and a couple bunk ones in GE’s. good luck!

edit: didnt finish all the pre reqs either
