Admission for Transfer Student

The Woodlands is badass!
How much will your rent be?

la la la la la…spamzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…still nothing

JUNE!!! ***… Hopefully it’s sooner this year.

I was told middle of may (again).

I was told anywhere from today to middle of may and to give the letter about 10 business days to arrive in mail. Also decisions will not be posted online on AIS. This sucks!

I wanna start looking for housing already.
But yeah, it would funny if I’m not accepted.

I heard back from UT like a week ago…

Has anyone tried calling their respective departments that they applied to?..I heard a story about a guy, that went to the same university I do, that called and emailed everyday his department until someone answered him back about his admission status. They eventually broke down and told him yay or nay.

like $540 with utilites included…i sure hope i get in

i emailed this counselor and this is the email he sent back:

Austin,

Decisions for Transfer students generally go out in May. Just keep an eye on you AIS and you should be able to see when a decision is made.

Yeah, my friends live at the woodlands and that’s how much they pay.
I will start looking for a house pretty soon.

__
Hey, I logged into Howdy and saw how much Aid I’m getting.

Go to <a href=“Portal: An error has occurred”>Howdy Security Block; and click “MyRecord(FALL 09)”

My EFC changed from 00060 to 03500 so my pell grant is $1600…it sucks.

one way to trick the system and see if youve gotten in before they post your admission decision is to go to tamu.edu and then in the right hand corner, click directory and type your name in and see if it shows up. if it doesnt show up yet dont worry that doesnt mean a no, they may havent gotten to your app yet. i did that last yr to figure out that i was on blinn team 1 month b4 i officially found out through a letter. instead of staying on blinn team for another yr and then getting automatically accepted i also applied for transfer for the fall. the head of the blinn team guy had a few open meetings that we could go to for “tips for applying for transfer” and a few things he said was letters of rec really dont make a huge difference at all. kids with good grades but dont follow the degree track for their major they applied to are at a disadvantage so make sure you have taken the right courses. also a huge portion on the decisions are based off your 1st essay so he put lots of emphasis on that. he also said which obviously we allllllllllllll know is that a&m is slow on getting out admission decisions so dont expect a quick turn around. also if u have less than 24 hours by the time you applied you are initially going to get a denial letter saying that you dont have enough hours, but dont worry, just send in your spring grades as soon as you get them and then a&m re-opens your file and if theres enough space and ur grades are good then youll have no problem getting in. and finally he said that everyone that applied for spring '09 who had above a 3.1 was pretty much accepted. hope that helps!!

Hey macalvelloxx…I dont know how you see your financial aid…mine says that my admission status is still pending, therefore my financial aid is $0 at the moment.

I just logged into howdy, clicked on “MyRecord(FALL 09)” and found the financial aid info. to the right side of the screen…under “Financial Aid - Portal.”

Yours says $0?

Have been logging into to howdy for a while know hoping to see financial aid and it is always $0. macalvelloxx I think you might already be accepted because i don’t think they post financial aid unless you are accepted? You don’t go to Blinn by any chance? Where is your financial aid better a&m or ut?

Yeah…it said that b/c I havent been accepted…and b/c Im a veteran and I havent given them a copy of my DD Form-214 ( my military record)…does your say anything about the admission process when you click on it?

That’s what I thought. I hope you are right!

UT hasn’t processed my fafsa yet. Apparently they didn’t move my app. to my new UT EID after I got it and the system thought I never applied.
They said it will take about two weeks to be processed…

But honestly, I leaning more towards A&M…

Nate_Dawg, It still says that I’m on step 3.

wow, I can even see my award letter.

Does this mean I’ve been accepted?

Mine also says $0.

Hey mcalvellox…what award letter are you talking about?..and where do you see it at?..Is i in the Documents tab at the bottom or the Correspondence Tab?

And Im sure that if you got into UT you’re in at A&M…but as for the rest of everyone whose show $0 in financial aid, it is probably because the system is not updating the information from the departements. Remember that each department is on their own time schedule and they will send your info to financial aid when they want to. Just like their slow-ass admission decisions.

Pardon my French.
